Cocoon on a branch

215.00

It’s been a while since I’ve made any pieces with cricula cocoons. The beautiful pieces of silk are 100% natural. The gold tone is as the silk worm made it and the cocoons are collected after the moth emerges.

I loved the idea of a cocoon hanging off of a branch as it would have been in the wild. I set this piece under a high dome natural quartz which magnifies the cocoon highlighting the detail.

Sterling silver setting is hand built, the branch is a cast component, two 14k yellow gold rings connect the chain to the setting and the entire piece is finished with a polished patina.

Stone setting measures ~ 1” x 3/4”, overall piece with branch measures ~ 1 3/4” x 1 1/4”

Chain length is currently 17.25” but length can be added, up to 3”, at no additional cost

Please note that the bezel around the stone is snug but not water tight. Moisture such as showers or submersion should be avoided.
